Regional Vice President of Group Underwriting in Las Vegas, NV

The company delivers a number of leading health benefit solutions through a broad portfolio of integrated health care plans and related services, along with a broad spectrum of specialty products such as life and disability insurance benefits, dental, vision, behavioral health benefit services, as well as longterm care insurance and flexible spending accounts. They currently offer an opportunity t join their organization in a Regional Vice President role. This position is responsible for directing the development of pricing and underwriting policies and standards, including strategic oversight of Small and Large Group underwriting functions for Nevada business and for Trust & Taft Hartley business in all their operating states excluding CA and NY. Regional Vice President of Group Underwriting Responsibilities• Monitors and influences profitability of renewal and prospect employer groups in the assigned territory. • Establishes underwriting policies and rating procedures, communicates any changes to staff, and ensures compliance. • Oversees issuance of standard financial arrangement contracts and creates wording for non-standard or new financial arrangements. • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of formulas, trending, reserving procedures, and claims to implement and consult with sales staff on the appropriateness of specific financial arrangements, ASO arrangements, and reinsurance provisions. • Participates in strategic planning and management decisions. • Develops and manages department budget. • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reportsRegional Vice President of Group Underwriting Qualifications• Requires a BA/BS degree in a related position.• 10 yrs of directly related background; or any combination of education and experience, this would provide an equivalent experience. • Excellent issue solving abilities, managerial skills, and written, oral and interpersonal communication expertise required.Please contact Scot Dickerson for immediate confidential consideration and additional info.
